My professor told me that anything difficult you ever do can be compared to running a marathon. To be good at something - really good at it - you need the proper preparation. You train everyday. You build up your increments, slowly, but gradually. No one runs a marathon by pulling an all-nighter at the gym expecting to come in first place the next day.
